SOUND EMPLOYMENT
HISTORICAL OVERVIEW

Sound Employment Services was founded in 1987. The decision to form the agency was based on a community needs assessment for supported employment services. A group of advocates in the social services field recognized the need for a program that focused its services towards securing and maintaining employment for persons with significant disabilities.
A Board of Directors was formed and an Executive Director was named.
The agency was awarded a contract by the King County Department of Developmental Disabilities to provide supported employment services. Subsequently, qualified staff was. hired to provide the services.
Over the years, an expanded population has been served and the jobs secured have improved in type, rate of pay, benefits, and location. The population served is located in all areas of King County. Supported employment services have expanded to include community education and development of natural supports in the workplace.
 Sound Employment Services  loves celebrating
